"Night" Analysis.

"In your place, I shouldn't care whether they believed me or not." (p.17 Elie Wiesel)
During this time Moche the Beadle was trying to get the Jews to believe what was going on at Auschwitz. Elie was telling Moche the Beadle that he wasn't going to do the same thing as the others and not believe him. This shows that Elie trusts Moche and is sympathetic to what's going on. Elie's open to explanations.

"He closed his eyes, as though to escape time."(p.17 Elie Wiesel)
Moche the Beadle closed his eyes, as if he was trying to pass the time. This is a sign that he was sad and confused. Elie just sat there and waited for something to say afterwards. Moche was showing that he knew Elie doesn't understand what he's gone through with Auschwitz.

  1. The first thing I saw was that you didn't parenthetically site it correctly. It should have been (Wiesel, 17) instead. Also, in the first analysis, you summarized it. The last two sentences, however, were very good points in what you were analyzing. Remember: We already know the situation. What does it say about the character, their opinions, and even the Holocaust in general? Overall, it was pretty well done, just a tad vague.

  2. Thanks Alanna. I understand where your coming from when you said everythign about the first blog. This is what spending 10 minutes on an assignment does to writing.

  3. The quotes are good, but the citing should be (lastname, pg.#). The analysis is good, but maybe add some opinions.
